Our Five Research Pillars

The five nursing research pillars

Through our research initiatives, faculty are committed to providing an environment for expanding scientific knowledge, integrating evidence-based education and practice initiatives and mentoring new scholars and graduate students. Our expansive expertise fuels our enterprise’s 5 Research Pillars – concentrated areas that offer a supportive framework to drive faculty and student collaboration. This supportive framework is anchored by our two centers— the Niedfelt Nursing Research Center (NNRC) and Center for Patient, Family and Community Engagement in Chronic Care Management (CENTRIC)—whose collective services include proposal development, grant management, evaluation and design consultation, mock reviews, pilot funding, learning opportunities and mentorship aimed at fostering collaborative, nurse-led interdisciplinary research.
