Clinical Nurse Leader
The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) Master’s Degree, a new specialty within the professional graduate program, provides a generalist focus for nurses who desire interdisciplinary and lateral care coordination of a distinct group of patients through transitions in care. This clinician puts evidence-based practice into action to improve the quality and safety of patient care outcomes from the latest innovations in care delivery. Certification opportunities exist after graduation through the Commission on Nurse Certification (CNC).
Career opportunities include diverse practice settings and systems such as hospital settings, clinics, education and public health departments. This specialty does not prepare graduates for work as a nurse practitioner.
