Joachim Voss , PhD, RN, ACRN, FAAN
I have developed expertise as a researcher over the last two decades, have been nursing faculty for 18 years, and my work with national and international interprofessional teams provides me with the background and skill set to fulfill my leadership roles. As a faculty member in three nursing education institutions, I have worked on numerous efforts related to increasing the health of populations (HIV, cancer, chronic illness), and research. As a Director of the PhD Program at the University of Washington and Case Western Reserve University, I have operationalized curricular changes, admissions procedures, school and campus regulations and policies, and dissemination strategies utilizing best practice and accreditation criteria to develop the healthcare workforce with partners across the state and nationally using face to face and distance technologies, most robustly within HIV and cancer nursing. As the Associate Dean for Academic Programs at the College of Nursing, I have great passion to contribute to state level workforce grants to deliver acute and long-term care nursing to new nurses. As Associate Dean, I work with UNMC leadership and local and national experts to build institution level infrastructure based on national standards. As we are building connections across our diverse populations, we can address health priorities in underserved populations and build a supportive infrastructure, especially for our rural campuses. In the past, I have overseen 18 research projects as principal investigator or co-investigator, both nationally and internationally, and bring extensive communication, grant management, dissemination, evaluation, and leadership skills to the project.
