UNMC, state explain bioterrorism preparedness efforts

On Friday, leaders with UNMC and the state of Nebraska told the top U.S. homeland security official that their expertise in bioterrorism preparedness has positioned them as a national model and as a key ally in federal efforts in combating bioterrorism.

Gov. Tom Ridge, former governor of Pennyslvania and advisor for the Office of Homeland Security, spent two hours on the UNMC campus learning about bioterrorism preparedness efforts that have national implications.
