UNMC and NHS leaders have developed a campus plan to respond appropriately to a number of scenarios from war to a terrorist attack here or abroad. Students start North Omaha clinic to treat Type II diabetics

Nebraska’s state slogan for many years has been “Nebraska…The Good Life.” Now, thanks to the efforts of numerous UNMC students, the slogan applies to a new clinic in North Omaha, which provides low-cost care to indigent patients with Type II diabetes.

Chancellor outlines state, university budget picture

UNMC is in the top of the third inning in dealing with potential state budget cuts, says UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D. The full impact of the cuts won’t be known until the ninth inning when the Legislature finalizes the state budget and the University of Nebraska Board of Regents vote on tuition increases and the university’s budget.
