MMI, Scottish Rite Foundation celebrate 25th anniversary

For 25 years, the Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) and the Scottish Rite Foundation of Omaha have contributed to a partnership that has benefited many children with speech and language disorders.

The 25th anniversary of this partnership was celebrated on Thursday, at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 202 S.20th St.

Cardiology symposium garners strong turnout

A symposium looking at common problems in cardiology is being held today at the downtown Embassy Suites Hotel with a total of 165 health professionals from Iowa and Nebraska expected to be in attendance.

UNMC names new College of Nursing dean

Virginia Tilden, D.N.Sc., associate dean for research for the Oregon Health & Science University School of Nursing, will be appointed to serve as sixth dean of the UNMC College of Nursing, pending approval of the NU Board of Regents.

Dr. Tilden, who would assume the post Oct. 8, will succeed Ada Lindsey, Ph.D., dean of the UNMC College of Nursing, who will retire July 31 after more than eight years at UNMC.

MMI, Scottish Rite Foundation Celebrate 25th Anniversary today

For 25 years, the Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) and the Scottish Rite Foundation of Omaha have contributed to a partnership that has benefited many children with speech and language disorders.

The 25th anniversary of this partnership will be celebrated today (June 5) at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 202 S.20th St. Festivities include an open house and informative tours of the facilities beginning at 11 a.m. Free lunch will be served until 1 p.m. and a Dixieland band will provide musical entertainment. At 5:30, a dinner of steak or fish will be served and the cast from the Buddy Holly tribute will perform an hour of songs for diners.
