Arts for Hearts Show, silent auction May 20-21 to benefit MMI
Although a number of fund-raising events benefit MMI programs, the annual Arts for Hearts Show and Silent Auction is the only event where the items for sale are hand-crafted by MMI clients. The Third Annual Arts for Hearts Show and Silent Auction will take place this week.

UNMC leadership team makes historic trek across Nebraska
It was a historic trip – two days, four speaking stops, 32 media interviews and more than 1,000 miles. In what is believed to be the largest group of University of Nebraska leaders to ever go out as a group across the state, 10 UNMC administrators piled into two vans on April 28 and 29 and went from Omaha to Scottsbluff and back on a landmark goodwill tour.

Nursing clinics highlight need for health services
Faculty and students at the UNMC College of Nursing in Kearney, Scottsbluff, Lincoln and Omaha, hope to draw attention to the plight of the uninsured during National Cover the Uninsured Week, May 10-16. The college has a number of nursing centers and services that provide outreach to the underserved.

Plan unveiled to revitalize Omaha’s midtown
Just as city, business and neighborhood leaders gathered at Joslyn Castle Wednesday to celebrate the roll out of the final Destination Midtown plan, a crane toppled the sign of the notorious Travel Inn. “As we mark a notable closing,” said Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey, “we start a new and vibrant future for midtown Omaha.”
