UNMC to participate in mock drill today
Today UNMC will join other state agencies in a mock drill to help bolster their readiness in the event of an actual disaster. The drill, called TEREX 2004, will not impact normal, day-to-day operations at UNMC, or its hospital partner, The Nebraska Medical Center.

Center for drug delivery, nanomedicine approved
The University of Nebraska Board of Regents today approved the creation of The Nebraska Center for Drug Delivery and Nanomedicine (CDDN) to develop innovative tools for improving drug delivery systems through nanoscale technologies.

Center for cellular signaling approved
The University of Nebraska Board of Regents Friday approved UNMC’s proposal to establish the Nebraska Center for Cellular Signaling. Funding for the center comes from a five-year, $9.9 million grant that UNMC received last year.

UNMC employee satisfaction survey needs your input
Beginning Nov. 8, UNMC employees will be asked to complete a confidential survey that measures employee satisfaction and perceptions. The survey measures employee responses regarding factors that research has indicated influence employee retention. The questionnaire will provide comparative data to the first UNMC survey, conducted in the fall of 2002.

Center for Research in Leukemia and Lymphoma approved
UNMC received approval Friday from the University of Nebraska Board of Regent for the UNMC Center for Research in Leukemia and Lymphoma. The center will facilitate a more rapid translation of research discoveries to benefit cancer patients.

Lincoln Division of College of Nursing to move
The University of Nebraska Board of Regents approved a proposal Friday that would allow the Lincoln Division of the UNMC College of Nursing to enhance its education facilities by moving to the Commerce Court Building at 1230 O St. The regents also approved several other UNMC proposals, including plans for a second research tower.
