Epilepsy program brings new level of expertise to Nebraska

After its first year of operation, the Nebraska Epilepsy Program at UNMC and its hospital partner, The Nebraska Medical Center, has been a huge success with more than 300 epilepsy patients presently being treated.

AMA president-elect on campus Sept. 24

UNMC receives $10.6 million NIH grant to study genes in neurosensory systems

UNMC learned Monday that it has been awarded a five-year grant totaling more than $10.6 million from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study genes in neurosensory systems. The grant – the largest ever received by UNMC – was funded through the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (CoBRE) program, which is supported by the NIH.

Cattlemen’s Ball ranch party raises funds for cancer research

The Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska recently presented the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center with a check for $33,000 for cancer research. The funds were raised at the 2003 Cattlemen’s Ball Ranch Party, a “mini” version of the traditional Cattlemen’s Ball.
