UNMC to host pain management series
UNMC pain management experts will provide an overview of what health professionals and scientists are doing to help manage pain during UNMC’s fall Mini-Medical School. The free health educational series titled, “Make It Go Away – Managing Pain,” will run Thursdays, Oct. 14, 21, 28 and Nov. 4, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (central time).

Distinguished chair honors medical educator
Former UNMC students often describe Leon Davis, D.D.S., M.D., as a man of great intelligence, few words and high expectations. Today, these graduates will share more than a few words of gratitude with the man, whom they believe, has built the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at UNMC into what it is today — one of the best in the country.

Dr. Singh receives Chancellor’s Gold U Award
Sanjay Singh, M.D., is fascinated by the brain’s cortex, the gray matter that makes individuals uniquely human. “A person lives in his cortex,” said Dr. Singh, the state’s first trained epileptologist. “It’s where they think from, it’s where their personality and emotions reside and it’s also the area that gives rise to epilepsy.”
