Trail event to benefit student-run clinics
UNMC students encourage you to grab your tennis shoes, bikes and in-line skates for a good cause. On Sunday, Oct. 24, the UNMC SHARING Clinic will sponsor “SHARING the Trail,” a non-competitive event for cyclist, runners, Rollerbladers and walkers with proceeds going toward the operational costs of the student-run SHARING, GOODLIFE and RESPECT clinics, which assist the underserved and underinsured of Omaha.

NASA officials at UNMC to explore partnerships
Two leading medical officials with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will visit UNMC today and Thursday to talk about current and potential partnerships with UNMC. The Medical Center has served as an advisor to NASA’s medical office, working on two new health programs to help meet future space challenges.

UNMC kicks off United Way campaign
For 81 years, United Way of the Midlands has been changing lives in Douglas and Sarpy counties in Nebraska and Pottawattamie County in Iowa. Today, the UNMC community is encouraged to help with that effort as the campus kicks off its 2004 United Way campaign with a goal of $120,000, a 4 percent increase over last year’s overall donation of $116,000.
