UNMC, Joslyn partner to offer cultural opportunities

Beginning this month, Joslyn Art Museum is partnering with UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center and University Medical Associates to offer employees a cultural passport. In 2005, Joslyn Art Museum will be bringing the arts to campus by offering art-focused cultural opportunities to employees, students and their families. Researchers meet children, families affected by cancer

Researchers don’t always have the opportunity to meet those they are trying to help. Instead, they are busy in the laboratory studying cancer, writing papers and applying for grants. But recently, UNMC cancer researchers met a dozen children and adults affected by leukemia or lymphoma.

Fry assumes role of director of governmental relations

In her position as director of governmental relations, Renee Fry wants to introduce UNMC researchers to federal opportunities for non-peer-reviewed research funding. Before she can do that, however, Fry needs to introduce herself to those same medical scientists. That’s why she’s spent much of her first few weeks on campus in meetings with those researchers.
