Dr. Scholar is 2004 Alvin Earle award recipient

It’s not unusual to find students playing Pharmacojeopardy in the classroom of Eric Scholar, M.D. A professor in the Department of Pharmacology and the Eppley Institute, Dr. Scholar co-developed the game to help students with pharmacology review questions. It’s one example of how the UNMC professor of 30 years connects well with students.

Nurse practitioner fulfills dream in poverty-stricken Bangladesh

As a young adult, Sandra Borden knew she wanted to work overseas in a remote place. She never really dreamed of being a nurse, nor did she seriously consider nursing as a career. But nursing was her destiny. The Gibbon, Neb., woman went on to build and staff a hospital in one of the poorest and most remote parts of the world.
