Hydro-mulching turns site green

On Friday, workers sprayed the perimeter of the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education site with grass seed to help stabilize the soil and prevent erosion from rain and wind. The hydro-mulching process gave the brown construction hole a festive St. Patrick’s Day color.

Discovery could aid fight against cancer

Cancer researchers have discovered that metabolites of natural estrogens can react with deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) to cause specific damage that initiates the series of events leading to breast, prostate and other human cancers. UNMC researchers are part of the discovery team.
