For many a father and son, fishing has served as a bonding activity. A chance to spend time together in nature while pursuing the thrill of the catch. This is holds true for UNMC’s Warren Sanger, Ph.D., and his son, Travis Sanger, M.D. The only difference between the Sangers and many other father-son fishing tandems is the Sangers are really, really good at fishing.

American Indian dancers offer lunchtime culture break

The Durham Outpatient Center West Atrium served as a cultural crossing point on Tuesday during a demonstration of traditional Native American Indian dances. During a noontime performance, members of the American Indian Dance Theater performed several routines, including one that involved about 20 members of the audience participating in a dance resembling a conga line.

A team of UNMC researchers led by Pawel Ciborowski, Ph.D., and Howard Gendelman, M.D., are using proteomic technology to discover protein biomarkers that will ultimately lead to better diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases.
