Regents pass resolution opposing petition drive

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents recently passed a resolution opposing the petition drive to amend the Constitution in order to cap state spending. The UNMC College of Nursing-Cosmopolitan Mobile Nursing Center, has partnered with the Omaha Public Library to provide free health screening and education through Aug. 3, for those 19 years of age and older. No appointments are necessary.

Grant may help Nebraska meth addicts

Rep. Lee Terry recently visited UNMC to discuss with Bruce Buehler, M.D., a pilot program that may help change the epidemic of methamphetamine addiction not only in Nebraska, but in the United States. Terry was instrumental in getting $150,000 in funding for the Integrating Systems against Methamphetamine Abuse.

Bartee named vice chancellor for external affairs at UNMC

Bob Bartee, executive assistant to the chancellor since joining the medical center in 1980, has been named vice chancellor for external affairs at UNMC. The University of Nebraska Board of Regents Thursday approved the new appointment, creating the fourth vice chancellor post at UNMC.
