Society for the Study of Reproduction to meet in Omaha

The Society for the Study of Reproduction has contributed to assisted reproductive technology including in vitro fertilization methods in humans and animals, the development of contraceptive pills, pregnancy diagnosis tests and fetal monitoring. Now, they are coming to Omaha for their 39th Annual Meeting, which will be at Qwest Center Omaha July 29 through Aug. 1. The annual meeting will be hosted by UNMC.

Today, the 68-year-old Council Bluffs man is 100 pounds lighter and feeling 30 years younger after receiving a liver transplant at The Nebraska Medical Center in April 2005. Patients with West Nile needed for clinical trial

Roger and Nancy DeBlauw began last summer like any other, enjoying time on their farm in Crofton, Neb. But their world changed in late July 2005 when Roger became critically ill after contracting West Nile virus. Now, he is participating in a National Institutes of Health-sponsored clinical trial of a potential treatment. The trial is being conducted regionally by UNMC.

Martha Foxall, Ph.D., has dedicated her life to nursing education. She will retire today – after the summer class she teaches ends – with a 54-year investment in the nursing profession. The past 26 years have been in the UNMC College of Nursing.

Regents chairman releases statement regarding Hergert decision
