They’re worth nearly $3.4 million. But the value of the nearly 4,250 volumes in McGoogan Library’s rare book collection goes beyond money. That was the word Thursday from a book expert as UNMC cut the ribbons on its newly renovated rare book rooms.

McGoogan rare book rooms reopening
A collection of rare medical books owned by UNMC is back where it belongs — in the McGoogan Library’s rare book rooms. A series of events will be held Thursday and Friday to celebrate the reopening of the rooms, which were closed for months for renovations.
