NU begins search for vice president and general counsel
University of Nebraska President James B. Milliken announced the beginning of the search for a new University General Counsel. A member of the University of Nebraska’s senior administrative leadership, the general counsel reports to the president and is the chief legal officer of the four-campus university.

Susie Thorne concert to kick off ‘Music as Medicine’ series
Susie Thorne and her jazz band “friends” will kick off the eighth season of the “Music as Medicine” series with a free noon concert in the Durham Outpatient Center on Thursday, Oct. 18.

UNMC to co-sponsor Bi-National Health Week
Bi-National Health Week spotlights the culture and health needs of the Hispanic population. It began as a partnership between California and Mexico 17 years ago. It has now expanded into 24 states, including Nebraska.

Dentistry class of 2007 is No. 1 on national board exam
The results of part two of the national board exam for the 44 UNMC dental students who graduated this year are in and the College of Dentistry is celebrating. The graduating class of 2007 had the highest overall average score in the nation on the examination taken by all of the nation’s dental students.
