Dr. Malloy named first AMDA ‘Medical Director of the Year’

COLUMBIA, Md. — The American Medical Directors Association (AMDA) recently announced that Timothy Malloy, M.D., associate professor in UNMC’s Department of Family Medicine and medical director of Hillcrest Health and Rehab in Bellevue has been named the organization’s first “Medical Director of the Year.”

On April 23, UNMC’s Joe Shapiro Professor of Medicine in Oncology/Hematology will be recognized close to home for his research. RHEN and AHECs award 39 small community grants

UNMC’s Rural Health Education Network has announced the funding of 39 grants to small communities around the state. The grants, which total nearly $47,000, range between $750 and $3,000 and are used to fund projects aimed at improving community health and to introduce Nebraska youth to health care careers.
