Dr. Maurer to be inducted into Omaha Business Hall of Fame
Already the recipient of an international Lifetime Achievement Award in cancer research, the region’s Midlander of the Year honor, the King of Ak-Sar-Ben crown and many other commendations over his illustrious career, UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., in April will add another title to his resume: member of the Omaha Business Hall of Fame.

Trauma center receives important state designation
The Omaha Trauma System consists of the two academic medical centers in Omaha — UNMC’s hospital partner, The Nebraska Medical Center, and Creighton University Medical Center — along with Life Net helicopter. Together, these entities combine to treat critically injured patients from around the metro. For the first time ever, the state of Nebraska has designated both hospitals as Comprehensive Trauma Centers, its highest designation.
