Discovering the magic of the Arts for Hearts show

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a preview story on the Munroe-Meyer Institute’s Arts for Hearts show never having attended the event. I interviewed both Kelley Coutts and Nicole Giron from the recreation therapy department at MMI to get an idea of what it was all about and while they did a fine job of explaining it, the actuality didn’t hit me until I went to cover the event on Dec. 3.

Prostate cancer study shows no benefit from selenium, vitamin E

Data from the Selenium and Vitamin E Cancer Prevention Trial (SELECT), funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and carried out by the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) at more than 400 sites in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada, show that selenium and vitamin E supplements, taken either alone or together, did not prevent prostate cancer.
