As many as 5.3 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease; roughly one out of 53 with numbers anticipated to quadruple by 2050. Tsuneya Ikezu, M.D., Ph.D., professor and vice chair for research, pharmacology and experimental neuroscience, and director for the Center of Neurodegenerative Disorders, feels these numbers are quite simply too high.
