UNMC recently acquired its sixth patent of the year, up from four last year. The latest, an invention by UNMC’s Thomas Rosenquist, Ph.D., vice chancellor for research, and Daniel Monaghan, Ph.D., professor of pharmacology, protects a method of screening drugs for preventing atherosclerosis.

UNMC recruits expert in gastrointestinal cancer and cancer drug development
Jean Grem, M.D., the head gastrointestinal cancer researcher/clinician at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Md., will be joining the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center this spring to direct the Gastrointestinal Oncology Program and the Oncology Drug Development Program.

Dental, dental hygiene students take oath of professionalism
