Two nurse-managed health centers celebrate 10th anniversaries
The 10th anniversary of the UNMC College of Nursing’s two nurse-managed community health centers is a celebration of improved health of thousands and those whose lives have been saved. The college is celebrating 10 years of service of its Cosmopolitan-UNMC College of Nursing Mobile Nursing Center and the Family Health Care Center.

Dr. Lily Chang receives 2003 Preceptor of the Year award
Chia L. (Lily) Chang, Pharm.D., has been selected as the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy 2003 Preceptor of the Year.
Dr. Chang, a clinical pharmacist in the Nebraska Health System Family Medicine Clinic, was selected for the award by a vote of the graduating senior class. The award recognizes the commitment, dedication and teaching excellence demonstrated by a volunteer faculty member in an experiential clerkship.

Kidney donor, recipient celebrate transplant anniversary
Ann Goldstein, 56, and Cheryl Cooper, 54,of Omaha, share more than their friendship. They have the same birthday and now share kidneys. A year ago, Cooper donated one of her kidneys to Goldstein.

Dr. Roche retiring from administrative role
When Edward “Ted” Roche, Ph.D., interviewed for a faculty position in the College of Pharmacy in 1966, he thought it would be a nice place to be for the next three to five years.
This academic year will be the last for Dr. Roche in administration. After 23 years as an academic administrator, Dr. Roche will return full time to the pharmaceutical sciences faculty.

From Ghana to New York City to Omaha: Sallar’s path leads to UNMC pharmacy degree
Kofi Sallar’s journey to the United States began with a mere $20 in his pocket and a one-way plane ticket from Ghana to New York City. Now, more than seven years later, Sallar is the proud recipient of a doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and is preparing for a career with Indian Health Service in Gallup, N.M.
