Information Technology Services has the following announcement for all UNMC Intranet users: On Monday, Nov. 24 your Lotus Notes user ID and password will allow you access to https://info.unmc.edu (UNMC Intranet) from off campus. All old IDs and passwords will no longer work.

Durham Research Center dedication today
The campus is invited to attend today’s dedication ceremony for the Durham Research Center. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in the building’s auditorium. It will feature a number of dignitaries, as well as the philanthropists who made the Durham Research Center possible. An all-campus celebration, complete with refreshments and tours of the building’s first floor, will follow the dedication until 3 p.m.

The public is invited to attend the second Destination Midtown design workshop Nov. 17-20 on the second floor of Mutual of Omaha’s Innowave Building, 3201 Farnam St. Designers from HDR will examine in detail the opportunities available for mixed-use, pedestrian oriented development between Dodge and Leavenworth Streets.

CN-AHEC receives grant to improve health-care for Latinos
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation awarded an $850,000 implementation grant to the Central Nebraska Area Health Education Center for their work in improving the health-care of Latinos in six counties in central Nebraska.

Dental class of ’95 honors classmate
Though Michael York spent almost four years in dental school, he never graduated with his classmates from the UNMC College of Dentistry Class of ’95. York was a senior dental student when his life was cut short by a brain tumor more than eight years ago. Alumni from the class of ’95 recently held a dedication ceremony to pay tribute to York.

Assigning spaces in the Durham Research Center
Unlike the popular television show, “Trading Spaces,” where individuals have 48 hours to redecorate one room, a team led by Thomas Rosenquist, Ph.D., spent nearly 365 days “assigning spaces” in 116 new Durham Research Center laboratories. Read more on the Durham Research Center Web site.
