Applications accepted for midtown Omaha’s biggest fans
Applications are being accepted for the new Destination Midtown Ambassadors Program, which is designed to engage individuals interested in revitalizing midtown Omaha. Ambassadors will serve as a community liaisons to Destination Midtown staff about current events, issues and program opportunities in the area. Ambassadors also will assist staff in continuing to engage our stakeholders in various ways.

UNMC nursing faculty help set national pressure ulcer policy
Two UNMC nursing faculty members serving on a national advisory panel have helped shape policy that will let health professionals better treat pressure ulcers, which often develop in bedridden patients and are sometimes misdiagnosed. Emile Street closing postponed

Educational center a continuation of Dr. LeeRoy Meyer’s vision
The late LeeRoy Meyer, M.D., became a pioneer in the medical education world by employing a small-group, case-based technique for educating future physicians. The formal dedication of a new education center on the fifth floor of the Medical Science Building (formerly the UMA Building) on Friday will serve as a continuation of Dr. Meyer’s legacy at UNMC, said Thomas Tape, M.D., professor and chief in the section of general internal medicine.

UNMC co-sponsoring nursing conference in India
The first nursing conference in India co-sponsored by UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center will be held in Mumbai, India, on Friday and Saturday. The conference, which is a collaboration with P. J. Hinduja National Hospital and Nursing College, is organized and led by Nizar Mamdani, executive director of the International Healthcare Services (IHS).
