Pharmacy robot in use at The Nebraska Medical Center
The newest employee in the newly remodeled inpatient pharmacy at The Nebraska Medical Center is drawing a lot of attention. This worker stands 8 feet tall, spans a width of 36 feet and holds the key to reducing medication errors and increasing patient safety and pharmacy productivity — giving pharmacists more time to spend consulting with physicians and nurses about patient care and medication safety.

Hospital seeking to become leader in quality transparency
To be active partners in their care, potential patients need information to make wise health care decisions. Available information must be current and written in a language that is understandable to the average person. To assist in this process, The Nebraska Medical Center will soon rollout a public Web site that will allow the organization to elaborate on our data … that will give potential patients a better idea of the quality of care provided at the medical center.

College of Pharmacy Dean Clarence Ueda, Pharm.D., Ph.D., leads the college’s class of 2007 through the pharmacist’s oath at Friday’s convocation. Friday marked the final time Dr. Ueda will lead students through their oath as he is stepping down as dean in July after serving in the position for more than 20 years.
