UNMC introduces Web-based health record for students

UNMC has announced plans for what is believed to be the first time an academic organization has established a Web-based Personal Health Record program for all its students. In contrast with medical records that are owned by doctors or hospitals, a PHR is owned by the patient and is part of a national effort to involve patients in their own health care.

That she received the Lifetime Acheivement Award at the Seventh Annual Heartland Latino Leadership Conference last month served as a reminder of her importance to the south Omaha community and her status as one of the most respected Latinos in the United States.

Consultant-evaluators to recommend reaccreditation

Although the formal decision by the Higher Learning Commission becomes available later this year, the visiting team will recommend 10 years of reaccreditation and that UNMC’s request to expand distance education degree and degree completion programs be approved. That was the exit report Wednesday of the seven-members of the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, who were on campus this week to assess UNMC’s reaccreditation status.

A note about the campus drug policy

UNMC employees are required to adhere to the Drug-Free Workplace Policy, which prohibits employees from the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession or use of alcohol and/or a controlled substance on UNMC property. The term “substance” refers to drug or chemical compounds that are controlled by local, state, or federal law. UNMC complies with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, as amended.
