UNMC College of Nursing researchers have launched a $1.9 million, five-year study that will examine the effectiveness of tailored newsletters in helping reduce hypertension in women at risk.

Conference to focus on animal research regulation

In the 1960s, Life magazine published a story about animals being subjected to horrible living conditions by dealers looking to sell the creatures for research. … The care and use of animals in laboratory experiments is the focus of a one-day conference being held June 26 at UNMC hosted by the university’s IACUC.

Cattlemen’s Ball to feature giant boot sculptures

Those in the market for an interesting piece of art may want to check out the Cattlemen’s Ball being held this weekend in Lodgepole in western Nebraska. Seven fiberglass cowboy boots, each six foot tall original works of art, will be auctioned off to support cancer research at the Eppley Cancer Center.
