Dr. Noren a candidate for Detroit university presidency
Jay Noren, M.D., founding dean of the UNMC College of Public Health, has been selected as the final candidate in the search for a new president at Wayne State University in Detroit.
The university’s board of governors will gather Wednesday to consider Dr. Noren’s candidacy.

Compromise bill is highlight of legislative session
One of the major accomplishments of the 2008 session of the Nebraska Legislature was the passage of LB 606, a compromise bill pertaining to the human embryonic stem cell research being done at UNMC as well as the use of somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT).
