Fred Paustian, M.D., a pioneering physician in gastroenterology who helped build UNMC into the powerhouse that it is today, died Nov. 5 in Omaha after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 87.

For the past several years, the UNMC Department of Public Relations has been creating brief one-minute videos each week for KETV (Ch. 7) in Omaha. The videos feature UNMC faculty as they answer basic questions of interest to the average viewer. The segments run on KETV’s morning newscasts on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. They also are distributed to other Nebraska TV and radio stations after they air on Ch. 7.
