Sheila Wrobel, privacy officer for The Nebraska Medical Center, has been appointed chief compliance officer for the University of Nebraska Medical Center, a new position created by Rubens Pamies, M.D., UNMC vice chancellor for academic affairs and dean of graduate studies. The appointment was effective Jan. 12.

2003 Databook on Nebraska Health now available

In 2003 the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services designated over 90 percent of Nebraska’s counties (88 of 93) as Mental Health Professional Shortage Areas (MHPSAs). Based on 2000 census data (Nebraska = 1,045,809), the population within these shortage areas exceeds 61 percent of the state’s total population. One facility, the Hastings Regional Center, has also been designated as an MHPSA.
