UNMC study to help identify Type 1 diabetes

Kathryn Dwinell has lived a pretty healthy 100 years. And she knows a good thing when she sees one. Dwinell, who lives in a retirement home in Lincoln, regularly visits the Senior Health Promotion Center, a nurse-managed center operated by the UNMC College of Nursing.

Lucia Cadetti, a post-doctoral fellow at UNMC, is one of 10 Fight for Sight 2005-06 Postdoctoral Fellowships recipients. Outstanding independent researchers were selected nationally. Fellows receive a $20,000 grant each year.

Student overcomes hurdles, completes nursing degree
