Studies from the Institute of Medicine and the Nebraska Public Health Association show there are major differences in health outcomes depending on such factors as socio-economic status, race and ethnicity, geography (urban/rural), educational level and age. On Oct. 23, UNMC will present “Eliminating Health Disparities in Omaha: A Collaborative Approach.”

UNMC receives $10.6 million NIH grant to study genes in neurosensory systems

UNMC learned Monday that it has been awarded a five-year grant totaling more than $10.6 million from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study genes in neurosensory systems. The grant – the largest ever received by UNMC – was funded through the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (CoBRE) program, which is supported by the NIH.
