UNMC, Joslyn partner to offer cultural opportunities
Beginning this month, Joslyn Art Museum is partnering with UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center and University Medical Associates to offer employees a cultural passport. In 2005, Joslyn Art Museum will be bringing the arts to campus by offering art-focused cultural opportunities to employees, students and their families. The partnership accommodates special events at the museum, as well as at UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center and UMA. Watch UNMC Today for upcoming events.

Fry assumes role of director of governmental relations
In her position as director of governmental relations, Renee Fry wants to introduce UNMC researchers to federal opportunities for non-peer-reviewed research funding. Before she can do that, however, Fry needs to introduce herself to those same medical scientists. That’s why she’s spent much of her first few weeks on campus in meetings with those researchers.

Memorial service today for Maureen Cleary
Memorial services are today for Maureen “Mo” Cleary, a former alumni director at UNMC. Cleary died Dec. 29 at her home in Estes Park, Colo., of complications from breast cancer, which was diagnosed in 2002. She was 53.

Mail Service to relocate Dec. 29, service temporarily suspended
UNMC Mail Services, currently in the Academic and Research Services Building, will relocate on Wednesday, Dec. 29 to the east side of the newly remodeled Campus Training Center building along 42nd Street between Emile and Leavenworth streets. The bulk of the move will take place Tuesday, Dec. 28. As a result, mail service will be suspended following the 11 a.m. mail run on Tuesday, Dec. 28 and resume for the 11 a.m. mail run on Wednesday, Dec. 29. If anyone has an urgent mail request during this period, they should call 559-5315 and special arrangements will be made.
