Program director named for MPH program
Alice Schumaker, Ph.D., has been named program director for the UNMC/UNO Master of Public Health Program, beginning July 1. Dr. Schumaker is associate professor in the School of Public Administration, College of Public Affairs and Community Service, at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

UNMC Center for Rural Biosecurity designated as USDA partner by Senate committee
The UNMC Center for Rural Biosecurity was chosen on Thursday to partner with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to lead emergency response protocols in rural areas in the event of a biological attack or disaster. The designation was included in the Agricultural Appropriations Bill that was approved.
