A note concerning possible insurance changes

The Nebraska Medical Center and UNMC Physicians are moving ahead with plans to terminate contracts with UnitedHealthcare. Letters notifying patients and families of the likely change are being mailed this week. The termination will take effect on Jan. 1, 2008.

More than 50 percent of the calls to the Nebraska Regional Poison Center involve medications. Every year the poison center gets calls from schools and daycare centers about medication being found on floors, in diaper bags or being shared among students.
