UNMC’s College of Nursing has established the Bertha Pankratz Endowed Chair in Nursing with a gift of more than $600,000 from Pankratz’s estate made through the University of Nebraska Foundation.

Dr. Miya presents manuscript at nursing ethics conference
Pam Miya, Ph.D., associate professor, UNMC College of Nursing, was one of 24 internationally recognized nurse researchers to participate in an April conference called “Nursing and Health Care Ethics: A Legacy and A Vision.” The Omaha conference brought together pioneers and noted scholars in nursing ethics.

Letter of intent to establish Norfolk nursing division signed
In a symbolic ceremony in Norfolk on Monday, officials signed a letter of intent that fulfills one of three requirements toward establishing a nursing college in Norfolk. The letter was signed by officials from Northeast Community College and Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, and the University of Nebraska and UNMC.
