Alumni reunions are always special. But, this year’s alumni reunion at UNMC was extra special. For the first time ever, four different academic units — the colleges of medicine, pharmacy and nursing and the School of Allied Health Professions — all came together at the same time on Oct. 5-6.

Sandhills motorcycle club raises money for cancer research
The battle against cancer is never ending. That’s why Ken Cowan, M.D., Ph.D., director of the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center, is so grateful for all the support he can get to help fund cancer research. Among the many donors to the cancer center, Dr. Cowan holds a special place in his heart for a group of motorcyclists who primarily reside in the Sandhills of Nebraska, a couple hundred miles west of Omaha.
