A committee will conduct a comprehensive review of Emily Glenn, who is serving as the interim dean of the McGoogan Health Sciences Library.
UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, and Dele Davies, MD, senior vice chancellor for academic affairs, tasked the review committee with evaluating Glenn.
The committee is made up of nine members. The group will meet with and organize interviews with key internal stakeholders, solicit external, regional and national letters of reference and compile feedback for the chancellor and senior vice chancellor.
Committee members include:
- Keith Olsen, PharmD, Joseph D. Williams Endowed Dean of the UNMC College of Pharmacy
- Kyle Meyer, PhD, dean of the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions
- Lisa Chinn, PhD, assistant professor and data services librarian in the McGoogan Health Sciences Library
- Teresa Hartman, professor and education and research services librarian in the McGoogan Health Services Library
- Karoly Mirnics, MD, PhD, director of the Munroe-Meyer Institute
- Chris Kratochvil, MD, interim vice chancellor for external relations
- Ken Bayles, PhD, vice chancellor for research
- Kelly Caverzagie, MD, associate dean for educational strategy and learning environment, Nebraska Medicine president for education
- Anne Bowen Fischer, senior assistant to the chancellor.
Glenn has served as interim director since September 2022. She started at UNMC in 2016 as education and research services librarian before becoming associate dean in 2020. She previously worked for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine out of the University of Washington; as chief librarian at the St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College; and as chief librarian at Tulane University’s Technical Assistance Program for Ethiopia in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Glenn has received numerous honors and awards for her leadership, publications and innovation at UNMC.
