Campus invited to pop in to kick off UNMC Giving Day

Faculty, staff and students are invited to help launch UNMC’s first-ever Giving Day — For the Greater Good by visiting several campus locations for free snacks.

From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today (March 30), all campus employees and students are invited to stop by:

  • Alumni Commons in the Sorrell Center;
  • Maurer Commons in Durham Research Center II; and
  • Nebraska Café at Nebraska Medicine.

Additionally, snacks and treats will be available from 2 to 3:30 p.m. today at Upper Storz at Nebraska Medicine.

Popcorn and other snacks and treats will be served.

The giving day website is open for gifts; anyone who makes a gift totaling $65 or more will receive a UNMC fleece blanket.

To honor UNMC’s founding in 1869, the event will last for 1,869 minutes (about 31 hours). The day will start at 10 a.m. today and will conclude at 5 p.m. Friday, March 31. The goal is to receive 1,000 gifts from UNMC alumni, friends and grateful patients to support scholarships, UNMC’s colleges, student organizations and clinical partners and institutions, including Nebraska Medicine. Several student groups have signed up to participate in the event.

Additional information about UNMC Giving Day, including options for giving and tracking the event’s progress, can be found at the giving day website. UNMC Giving Day is organized by the University of Nebraska Foundation.
