Talk about your job and what you like best about it:
I’m in charge of the mass spectrometers in our lab but also do a lot of method development and collaborator work. I gain satisfaction in solving problems. Mass spectrometry-driven “omics” is an extremely difficult and problem-ridden discipline, which leaves plenty of opportunities to “scratch that itch.” The gratification I get from planning, executing and often troubleshooting our experiments is addictive.
List three things people may not know about you:
- My husband also works at UNMC, and our daughters both say they want to go to school here (fingers crossed!).
- I’m a proud farmer’s daughter.
- I learned wedding cake decorating from my grandmother and recently recreated her design of my parent’s wedding cake for their 50th anniversary.
