The UNMC College of Pharmacy Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is hosting its annual Pharmaceutical Technologies in Drug Discovery and Drug Development Workshop on March 20-21.
This year’s conference, held at the Truhlsen Event Center on UNMC’s Omaha campus, will feature an array of presenters from industry, academia and regulatory agencies. It is geared toward providing early-career scientists with an overview of current drug development and an opportunity to consider career paths outside of academia.
In addition to their scientific presentations, speakers will discuss their overall career trajectory and the various opportunities they explored as their careers developed.
Student participants are encouraged to take part in the poster presentation, and panel sessions are designed to encourage dialogue between featured speakers and attendees.
This year’s workshop organizer is Jered Garrison, PhD, professor of pharmaceutical sciences. The industry-academia workshop was established in 2018 by Ram Mahato, PhD, chair of pharmaceutical sciences, and is supported by Keith Olsen, PharmD, dean of the College of Pharmacy.
