If customers used the self-serve kiosk register at the C-Store on level three of University Tower within the last three weeks, they may be surprised to see recent credit card charges appear on their account. Don’t worry, these charges are not fraudulent.
Sodexo, which oversees the C-Store, was alerted on Feb. 8 that the self-serve kiosk register at the C-Store was inadvertently taken offline on the morning of Jan. 20. The machine still collected the pending charges people made via ID badge/payroll deduct and credit cards.
Once the kiosk terminal was brought back online the morning of Feb. 9, the pending charges made since Jan. 20 started to be processed and pushed out all at once. So, if someone made multiple purchases at the kiosk since Jan. 20, multiple charges will be coming through to that customer’s account.
Thank you for that information. If an employee paid via quick-charge (badge) during that time, how will those charges be applied?
