The UNMC Center for Healthy Living has opened membership to friends and family outside of the med center community. The center will be hosting a membership drive through Friday, Feb. 10, and offering facility tours to members of the public who are interested in becoming a member.
“We want to provide an inclusive opportunity for the greater community who live in and near the UNMC campus to purchase a membership and engage with the Center for Healthy Living as a convenient place to work out and stay healthy,” said Andrea Swett, interim director of the Center for Healthy Living.
The fitness center is in the Student Life Center and offers a variety of activities and services that encourage wellness among faculty, staff, students and community members. Additional information on membership is available on the center’s website.
Membership benefits for community members include one-to-one consultations with a fitness specialist, access to Fitness on Demand digital workouts, locker and towel service and weekly fitness classes. Monthly membership fees can be paid via automatic payment deduction and include options for one-month, two-month, four-mouth, eight-month or ongoing memberships.
Those interested in using equipment or attending fitness classes who do not want to commit to a full membership can purchase a daily use pass for $7 at the front desk through Feb. 10. After that, guests can purchase a daily use pass if they are accompanied by a current member. Members can bring up to two guests to the center per day.
With questions, email the Center for Healthy Living or call the front desk at 402-559-5254.
