Davis named to joint leadership roles in dermatology

Lindsey Davis has been named the new leader for the joint leadership position of ambulatory clinics director for Nebraska Medicine Dermatology and department administrator for the UNMC Department of Dermatology.

Davis joins dermatology after successful roles as the manager of the Olson Center for Women’s Health and the ENT clinics. Davis has a strong background in ambulatory operations and team development since joining Nebraska Medicine in 2016. She also has a master’s degree in health administration, as well as master’s and bachelor’s degrees in sports science and health education.

“We are ecstatic to welcome Lindsey to our dermatology team,” said Ashley Wysong, MD, chair of the UNMC Department of Dermatology. “Lindsey brings a strong leadership background from Nebraska Medicine and will help lead our clinical, education, research, and outreach teams to continued growth and excellence.”

Davis will report to Tom Macy, vice president, operations, for the Nebraska Medicine clinic operations and to Dr. Wysong for the UNMC Department of Dermatology.

“I’m excited to work with Lindsey in this new leadership role,” Macy said. “She has focused on and taken the steps necessary in her professional development to prepare herself to take on this new responsibility.”

Mike McGlade, senior associate dean for administration and director of finance for the UNMC College of Medicine, said the college was excited to welcome Davis to the administration team.

“Her knowledge and background positions her to assist in the continued growth and development of the dermatology department as they further their tripartite mission of education, research and patient care,” McGlade said. “In her new role, she will join more than 50 other departmental and division leaders across the college all working together to make the college as successful as possible.”

Davis assumes the role as Kara Tomlinson moves to her new role as executive director, system care delivery and innovation, Nebraska Medicine. Tomlinson worked extensively with Dr. Wysong on the launch of the UNMC Department of Dermatology and the related clinical operations.

Davis will start in her new role on Monday, Feb. 13.
