Breakthrough Thinking will talk optimizing work environments

UNMC’s Breakthrough Thinking Conference Series will return Jan. 4 with an online presentation focused on optimizing the work environment to enhance learning and connectedness among employees. 

The annual, thought-provoking series is open to all UNMC faculty, staff and students. 

The Jan. 4 event, titled “Neurodiversity, Inclusivity and the Student Experience,” will be from 11 a.m. to noon CT with Julia Cooper, director of consulting at Hok, a global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm.  

A workplace strategist with more than 25 years of strategic planning and design experience, Cooper understands how to use the work environment as a strategic tool to solve organizational challenges. She studies the myriad issues companies face as they attempt to optimize the built environment and develops data-driven solutions that link design to work process, technology, HR and organizational goals. 

Cooper has developed a variety of workplace typologies for clients across the U.S. and overseas. She is certified in the change management process in accordance with Prosci methodologies.
