Team steps up to support Hispanic Little Angels

Student volunteers, along with Santa Claus, at the Hispanic Little Angels holiday drive-thru held Dec. 9

The Munroe-Meyer Institute’s UCEDD team and other community partners held a holiday drive-thru with Santa for the Hispanic Little Angels Support Group.

The support group is for Spanish-speaking families who have children with disabilities.

At the event, held Dec. 9, 130 Hispanic families and their children made a quick drive-thru at MMI, said Kim Falk, who is program manager for MMI’s Family Care Enhancement Program.

The 354 children who attended received a toy and cookie and could visit Santa at MMI, Falk said.

Each family caregiver received a gift bag with a caregiver checklist and self-care items, she said.
