UNMC’s Center for Continuing Education is highlighting two conferences set for 2023.
2023 Hematology Highlights: A Post ASH Review – Registration is open for the 2023 Hematology Highlights: A Post ASH Review to be held Feb. 4 at the Hilton, Downtown Omaha.
This year’s conference is designed to provide updates on new treatments and management of acute and chronic leukemia, thrombosis/hemostasis, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloproliferative neoplasms, as presented during the 2022 annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology. The conference is geared toward physicians, advanced practice practitioners, nurses, residents and fellows in the specialty areas of oncology, hematology, internal medicine, radiation oncology and pathology.
Presentations will be delivered by key leaders; participants will have an opportunity to be involved in the interactive question/answer sessions. The registration deadline is Jan. 27.
Contemporary Management of Cancer Risk and Prevention Symposium – Registration is open for the second annual Contemporary Management of Cancer Risk and Prevention Symposium to be held Feb. 24 at the Truhlsen Events Center on UNMC’s campus.
This year’s symposium will provide an update on cancer risk and prevention management for breast, ovarian and several other cancers, with an emphasis on genetic testing and screening guidelines as stated by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.
Additional topics will include cancer prevention, lung cancer screening, direct-to-consumer testing, hereditary cancer syndromes associated with skin and genitourinary cancers and disparities in genetics. The registration deadline is Feb. 22.
