Doctor’s South closed Monday due to water main break

The break's only impact to Nebraska Medicine operations is in the Clarkson Doctors Building South.

Clarkson Doctors Building South will remain closed Monday as a result of the nearby water main break Friday. Eastbound traffic on Farnam St. between 44th St. and 42nd St. will be impacted until further notice.

Nebraska Medicine and UNMC worked closely with Metropolitan Utilities District (MUD) crews responding to the water main break near 42nd and Harney streets. The only impact to Nebraska Medicine operations was in the Clarkson Doctors Building South.

This building houses several outpatient clinics and offices. Any patients with appointments there will be contacted directly by their health care provider.

Hospital and procedural areas of the med center continued to operate normally. This includes the Nebraska Medical Center Emergency Department. Working with MUD, the med center will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.

On Friday, MUD crews worked to repair the water main break near the medical center. Clarkson Tower was open, and the main entrance was accessible from Dewey Ave. from the east and 42nd St. from the south only. Traffic was impacted on 42nd St. between Farnam and Harney streets during the repair work, which was estimated to take four to six hours.
